Bradford's Great Victoria is Officially Great!

Yorkshire-based hotel and leisure group Tomahawk is celebrating after picking up a top award for its Great Victoria Hotel in central Bradford.

The Great Victoria scooped ‘Small Venue of The Year’ at the prestigious Insider magazine’s Yorkshire Business Tourism Awards.

The accolade comes hot on the heels of the launch of the hotel’s spectacular top floor – known as The Fourth. Refurbished at a cost of £1m, the new floor features 13 sumptuous rooms and suites, offering contemporary features such as waterfall showers with 24 inch shower heads, 50 inch plasma screens and side-by-side baths with Italian furniture and sumptuous fabrics.

Co-owner Rob Foulston said: “We are absolutely delighted to have picked up the award for ‘Small Venue of the Year’. It’s a testament to the hard work of our staff, who work tirelessly to offer the very best standards of service to every single customer, and I want to take this opportunity to thank them.

“When we opened a luxury boutique hotel in the centre of Bradford it certainly caused a few raised eyebrows. Now, two and a half years on, we’ve proved that it is a fantastic hotel and is ideal for business and leisure travellers, as well as a great venue for weddings, conferences and meetings. And we are especially proud of our Corniche Restaurant, which draws many non residents to the hotel due to its truly delicious food and outstanding ambience.”
With a total of 70 bedrooms, the Great Victoria Hotel has a midweek occupancy rate of 90 per cent, and continues to grow in popularity. It also features the funky RBar, and can hold fantastic weddings of up to 150 at the wedding breakfast.

Peter Baber, editor of Yorkshire Business Insider, said: “With plush new rooms coming on line all the time, an obvious attention to the IT needs of the business traveller, and a restaurant menu that’s truly memorable, the Great Victoria Hotel is at the forefront of a resurgent Bradford.
