High Trenhouse Enhances “Green” Credentials
High Trenhouse has for many years invited people to sponsor a tree or two to
offset the carbon they release by journeying to our Malhamdale venue. This has
been so successful that there is little space left – and the result is a wonderful
habitat and burgeoning wildlife.Now we invite organisations who use High Trenhouse to participate in a wider
scheme to plant woodlands in the Dales. We will work with established local organisations
to plant and maintain sustainable woodlands in this lovely area. This is a wonderful
and rewarding way of making up for your carbon footprint.
As a rough guide you can offset your carbon if you allocate 1% of total travel
costs to tree planting. A typical group arriving from different parts of the country
by different modes of transport will generate 2 tonnes of CO2. To offset this
will require the planting of 10 trees. Sponsorship can be in multiples of £100
or 10 trees at a time.
Even If you are not planning to come to High Trenhouse you are still welcome
to participate in this scheme to offset the carbon you use elsewhere.
