The Coniston Hotel announces another feather in its cap!

The Coniston Hotel, which is in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and already provides clay pigeon shooting, archery, Land Rover driving and much more is proud to announce the completion of extensive refurbishment at its now world class falconry centre.

The centre is home to more than 20 birds of prey including owls, hawks, falcons and eagles and is being headed up by falconry veteran Mark Presley. Corporate groups can book a number of experiences including hawk walks, eagle or hunting days.

A typical falconry day sees guests arrive at the hotel for bacon butties and then make their way to the falconry centre where they are introduced to the birds. The falconer will go through the characteristics of each of the species and also the personality of each of the birds. Groups get the chance to touch and hold the birds and experience the birds swooping down to land on their gloves. Clients initially work with the smaller birds and build up to other larger birds.

Guests who wish to take part in the hunting experiences are take the birds out onto the estate and get to see them as they tackle the challenge of tracking, chasing and possibly catching their prey.
