The Spa Bridlington launches with top band and celebrity chef
As the multi-million pound redevelopment of The Spa Bridlington enters its final
phase, dates for the grand launch are announced as May 31 to June 7, 2008. A week-long programme of fabulous launch events kicks off with a concert from
top Yorkshire band The Pigeon Detectives on May 31, who will be the first to make use of the new state-of-the-art facilities
and increased capacity of the Royal Hall.
On 3 June 2008 hundreds of invited guests from leading business will attend a celebration
dinner as part of Business Week 2008. Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay will be supervising food preparation and deliver an after-dinner speech.
The Spa Bridlington will reopen as the East Coast’s premier entertainment and
conference venue. Senior Facility Manager Jeremy Hartill said ‘This much-loved
historical landmark has been modernised with state-of-the-art facilities and will
host the very best in drama, comedy, sports, dance, music and more.
With the stunning 1930s art deco Royal Hall, capable of holding audiences of
up to 3500, Edwardian Spa Theatre and 8 other purpose built function rooms of
different sizes, The Spa Bridlington is the perfect venue for conferences, weddings,
training, exhibitions, events, meetings - any event!’
The launch week rounds off with a public open day on 7 June when the doors will
be thrown open with 'access all areas' tours and a chance for the public to see
