Underwater Business Meeting at The Deep in Hull
Business Tourism Makes a Splash in Underwater MeetingYorkshire Tourist Board staged a world’s first on the 12th April, when they held an underwater business meeting at The Deep in Hull. The
meeting was being held to launch the new Yorkshire Business Tourism Campaign.
Nick Bond, Business Tourism Manager for the Tourist Board, explained: “This campaign
is looking at all sorts of unusual and exciting ideas for helping us to compete
against other regions across the globe and will highlight the unusual and exciting
venues available. People are looking for more and more adventurous places and
ways to hold business meetings and conferences. We also want to communicate why
Yorkshire is such a great choice – its ease of access by road, rail or air, its
outstanding quality of service and catering, the huge choice of venues and opportunity
to reward delegates by offering inspiring surroundings and exciting activities.”
Yorkshire is one of only a few regions to boast an advisory service for anyone
thinking about holding a meeting or conference in the region. This is delivered
by Nick Bond, who has been in post as Business Tourism Manager for just over a
year.
“I give advice to anyone who is looking at Yorkshire as an option. I can give
information and support on the bidding process, venues available, catering, transport,
accommodation and provide details of other sources of support."
