About the Venue
The impressive Yorkshire Museum constructed in the 19th Century has the enviable
location of the city of York's Museum Gardens; 10 acres of beautiful botanical
gardens that provide a fantastic backdrop to any event.
Once inside the Yorkshire Museum, you will see over 2000 years of heritage in
galleries displaying some of Europe's finest Roman, Anglo-Saxon, Viking, Medieval
and Geological treasure.
There are new and remarkable exhibitions coming to the Museum on a regular basis,
offering you and your guests something new to experience and enjoy each time!
The Museum is ideal for drinks receptions and cocktail parties, and events in
the Yorkshire Museum are often combined with functions taking place in the Tempest
Anderson Hall Lecture Theatre. The lecture theatre is an annexe of the Yorkshire
Museum, a 300 seat theatre style auditorium built in 1912 with a fascinating history,
including previously being used as a cinema.
The fully equipped theatre has been used for awards ceremonies, conferences,
seminars, concerts, films and demonstrations.
